Bowerbird May 2018: Five Stalls I Can’t Wait to Visit

Bowerbird is this weekend and with Mother’s Day the following Sunday it’s the perfect place to find a unique gift for mum. Over 170 of Australia’s best independent designers will be showcasing their products all in the one gorgeous setting. You’ll want to set aside a whole day to browse, shop, sample delicious artisan food & beverages and ‘get your creative on’ with workshops and demonstrations for adults & kids being held across the three days. It’s an event I always look forward to.

I’ve picked 5 stalls I can’t wait to visit!

Denz & Co

I am itching to get my new fix of Denz & Co statement earrings! A definite favourite of mine, Kate’s gorgeous jewellery caught my eye at Finders Keepers in Melbourne last October. Kate, also the designer behind Studio Cockatoo, makes the most eye-catching, bold, one of a kind statement pieces – and I’m obsessed with her earrings! Working from her studio in Noosa, Kate uses the art of enamelling to handcraft her striking jewellery. The hardest part is choosing – I guarantee you won’t be able to stop at one pair!

Raine Beau

These bright, colourful Raine Beau kids’ lunch boxes stopped me in my directory browsing tracks! I can’t wait to check them out and I’m pretty certain my girls, along with my nieces and nephews, will be scoring one of these for their next birthday. Not only are they gorgeous and fun to look at, they’re really, really practical. These large, eco-friendly, non-toxic, leakproof lunch boxes feature bento style compartments that can actually fit a decent amount of food in them – yay! What kid (or adult!) wouldn’t want to pack their lunch in one of these? Catch-ya-later plastic packaging!

Captain Robbo

Australian made leggings

As we head into cooler days, I’m eager to check out Captain Robbo‘s Adventure Pants – they’re not just leggings, they are. . . ‘Adventure Pants’! Beautiful designs screen printed onto soft, comfy & durable leggings made from locally sourced natural fabrics and inks. Katy Robinson, aka Captain Robbo, proudly uses sustainable work practices to make her products and her range is 100% made in Melbourne. Love.

The Woollen Earth

Another one for the cooler months, The Woollen Earth makes the most luxurious, chunky knitted products using 100% Australia Merino Wool. Owner Sally Cairns makes these soft, woolly products from her home in Adelaide. The Woollen Earth’s range includes gorgeous fashion accessories as well as throws, floor rugs and baby play mats. I am already the happy owner of a beautiful, soft, cream chunky scarf and it’s seriously the most snuggly winter accessory!

Nerida Hansen

I am really excited to finally meet Nerida Hansen, the queen of textiles! Nerida is a huge supporter of Australian design and her stunning range of designer fabrics will most definitely excite the sewers amongst us! A must visit at Bowerbird if you’re into sewing and making. Even if you’re not – I’m sure you’ll find yourself stopping to admire the super gorgeous patterns.

Mother’s Day Giveaway

Of course, make sure you visit Ettie Ink – come say hi and keep an eye out for my Mother’s Day Promotion & gorgeous Prize Pack Giveaway happening at the Ettie Ink stall this weekend.

Bowerbird is also giving away a HUGE prize hamper for Mother’s Day. For the chance to win head over to the Bowerbird Facebook Event and enter by clicking ‘interested’ or ‘going’. Easy peasy!
